Smoker grabs you and pulls you with his tongue, from what is now 60 feet or closer. This is handy because it separates the group, in some cases by quite a bit (ie; pull them out a window so they're a floor down), or in some cases pull them off the edge of a cliff, although they've nerfed it so you almost always grab the edge. You still have to be helped up and can't do anything.

The hunter pounces. He can wall jump his way up or around walls to either get away or get better position. The farther away he pounces from, to a point, the more damage he does when he lands. Then he starts slashing at the survivor. He can also just run up and slash people, but that too has been nerfed so it does much less damage.

They're both completely different, and both take a bit of time getting used to using. They both also have little things that you can use to your advantage, like the hunter pounce next to other survivors knocks them back, so if you hit it right you can knock them off ledges, etc.

L4D is just plain addictive and awesome, especially when playing with people you know (ie. BBA).

The other really fun aspect is the Achievements system. You get achievements for doing certain things in the game, like surviving a campaign, surviving a campaign on expert, surviving all the campaigns on expert, killing a certain number of zombies, setting things on fire, etc. And for the infected team (special zombies) there are other achievements, like vomiting on all four survivors at once, which is always hilarious! lol

All in all, anyone thinking about buying it definitely should. I have barely touched ET since I started playing L4D.

Don't do it Sissyboy. We don't eat, we don't sleep, all we do is play L4D and have nightmares of being dragged off by a smoker while being torn apart by a hunter right after being puked on by a boomer. And thats a good night sleep now.

Haha so true. And while we're at work/anywhere we can't play, we think about strategies next time we're going to play.

But it's all in good fun!

This is one of the those situations where being single = awesome! I don't have to answer to ANYONE except myself, and thus can spend a disgusting number of hours on L4D. You'll find you want to do it too, even if you can't, it's just too good. I've even started planning my days around when other BBA will potentially be online. wtg

Fun? Killing zombies is serious business man. LOL Ah man Sissy don't do it. You will get sucked into this game. My usual niceness has started to wear thin during a game. You've got to have thick skin if your gonna be on my fireteam. I find myself barking orders and trying to apply "fields of fire" principals to this game. Now if I can just get these other yahoos to learn how to properly clear a room....
