I like what they are trying to do with this echo system.

So a week into this and have had some good playing time into it. The game feels slow, and has many, many classes..probably too many to learn by the causal player. The objectives are simple with no real vehicle control, like the original ET...move the vehicle along a fixed path by being next to it...lame. I also wasn't too fond of the small maps, I guess cause your running everywhere they have to be small...a lot like Brink. Even being small, they are loaded with complexity, so a causal player will constantly be getting killed from behind as a lightweight player hiding in some niche either snipes you or back stabs you. Another thing I didn't like, so you have 12 different classes but can only play (3) at a time...and you pick the (3) classes before you join a server. So you join a realize your team doesn't have a medic and none of the (3) classes you chose initially are a medic...well you will need to disconnect, make the changes and reconnect...sigh!
